ROSIERE RECTORY:  There will be a committee meeting to discuss its future use, (we may have a family interested): Thursday, Dec. 4 at 3:30 pm at the Cape Vincent rectory.  Anyone wishing to join in, please do so. 

PASTORAL & FINANCE COUNCILS JOINT MEETING Friday, Dec. 5 at 6:30 pm at All Saints Parish Center in Chaumont.   

THE FEAST OF THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION is a Holy Day of Obligation.  This year it falls on a Monday. In addition to the weekend masses there will be an anticipated mass at 4pm in Rosiere on Sunday, Dec. 7, and at 8:30 am in Cape Vincent and 7:00 pm in Chaumont on Dec. 8.

THE BISHOP’S FUND APPEAL:  This year our goal is $16,420, $500 more than last year.  As of   Nov. 3, 2008 our parish has contributed $10,700.25. If you have not made a gift or pledge, please pray about your decision and make a pledge or one-time gift.  Pledge cards and envelopes are located at the back of the churches.  To everyone who has made a gift or pledge, thank you for making a difference in the lives of thousands of people across our Diocese.

VOCATION:   What we’ve done to the least of our brothers and sisters we’ve done to Christ.  Choose to serve in every instance; listen for a call to service as a priest, brother, or sister.  If you feel that God might be calling you, contact Father Aubin at 654-2662 or e mail: vocations@misacor-usa.org or the diocesan vocation director, Fr. RELIGIOUS EDUCATION CLASSES:  November 23* (*Children’s Mass), 9:30 am to 10:30 am in Cape Vincent and from 10:00 am to 11:00 am in Chaumont. Registration forms are available in the entry of all three churches; or may be obtained by calling Verna Docteur at 649-2673. Please remember that attendance at mass with the parents is part of the Program.

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS Pancake Breakfast, TODAY, Sunday, November 23rd, at the Cape Vincent Recreation Park from 8 am till noon or so.  Adults: $5.00, Child and Family rates available.  The proceeds will benefit the K of C Father Kelly Scholarship Fund which provides an annual scholarship to a deserving student from the towns of Cape Vincent and Lyme.

THIRD ANNUAL COMMUNITY WIDE THANKSGIVING DINNER at St. Vincent of Paul Parish Center.  Seniors, small families, members of the Military, and shut-ins are invited.  Rides will be provided for those who need them and meals will be delivered to those who are unable to leave their homes.  This service is provided to Cape Vincent and Rosiere residents. Reservations are requested.  Anyone wishing to contribute funds, donate a pie, volunteer your services or make reservations, should call Sam DeLong at 654-8166.  There is no charge but donations are appreciated.  Welcome at 1:30 and dinner at 2pm.

2009 CALENDARS are in the back of the churches.  A $2.00 donation would be appreciated.  Also, ADVENT candle rings and sets of candles are in the back of the churches.  The rings are $3.00 and the candles are $2.00.

EMPTY BAGS for non-perishable food will be in the back of the churches during Advent.  Take one home and fill it up and return it no later than December 21/22.

SIGN UPS FOR “WHY CATHOLIC?” Contact Deacon Ruddy at 654-3130 to register. One can register at anytime.  ADVENT RETREAT Sunday, December 6 from 10 am till noon: Eucharist: Bread for the Journey: The entire parish is invited to participate in the closing of Year II focus on the Sacraments.  One of the aspects of the Retreat will be: “I am What I Eat”.  The Eucharist has no meaning unless it is lived in love.  How can I demonstrate more effectively what it means to give myself to others? What does it mean when I hear that the Eucharist builds unity? Do I see my brothers and sisters in the celebration? Parish registrations are due on Monday, November 24. Call Sister Anne or Deacon Ruddy.

NORTHERN CHORAL SOCIETY CHRISTMAS CONCERT 2008, December 5 (7:30pm), 6 (3:00pm) and 7 (3:00pm.)  See poster in the back of the church for more information and to order tickets.

ST. VINCENT OF PAUL ROSARY & ALTAR SOCIETY MEETING Monday, December 1st at the home of Ellie Sullivan at 10am.  Items for the Catholic Charities baby layette should be brought to the meeting.  Clothing for tots or money are also much appreciated.

DAY OF PILGRIMAGE Monday, Dec. 8 at St. Paul’s Church in Black River: 8am – Mass, 10:30 am Holy Hour with prayers for vocations and 7:00 pm Mass.

YOUNG ADULTS (20’s and 30’s):  Come Join Us for a night of faith sharing at our first night of Young Adult Reflection, Wednesday, December 10th, 7pm at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church, Watertown.  Please let your pastor know you are attending.
